The Himaya Children Climate Art Response and Power of Goodness Project was co-founded and initiated by Rosa during lockdown during COVID-19, and as a post-disaster project after Typhoon Odette in a village in Negros Island in 2021.
The Himaya Children Climate Art Response through play, anchored in the Power of Goodness, is a community artist-initiated independent volunteer organization. This children-centered project operates in local villages with no access to museums, art schools, cultural centers, and the like. This project opens a door of opportunities to young village kids to see beyond the sugarcane fields, impoverished communities, and fishing villages, and discover their potential to become active leaders, artists and change agents, and climate advocates.
Quaker Thanksgiving funds supported the pioneering Power of Goodness through play (Theme: Pugad Bata Children's climate art response) with mentorship from Friends Peace Team - AWP as part of Himaya-to-Maya partnership during the AVP workshop in Bantayan, Cebu and Friends Peace Teams –Asia West Pacific 2025 Regional Justice and Peace Training (RJPT) in Pati, Indonesia.
Himaya Children's project was initially funded by Korea SHE Foundation, Quaker Thanksgiving Funds - Queensland Australia, and Edified Energizer Australia.
