Enigmata Creative Circle, Inc was co-founded by a group of collaborating artists, cultural workers, educators, musicians, and environmentalists: Rosa Zerrudo, Rodelio 'Waway' Saway, Kublai Millan, Tating Soliva, Errol Balcos, and Oliver Paderanga with support from distinguished Filipino, especially Mindanaoan community artists and scholars. The creative process thrived in Camiguin Island as it's based in a community art space fondly called Enigmata Treehouse Ecolodge which evolved as cultural destination. Enigmata treehouse artists and support staff Frank, Peter Zerrudo, Tupi Salem, Venz, Ging, Buday, Bambam, Joan, and Raymart were young collaborators who are now professional educators and freelance entrepreneurs. Ben Aicha built the first treehouse structure, which was later expanded and complemented by upcycled eco-designs and okil art and most especially with sculptural masterpieces by Kublai Millan. Unfortunately, the Treehouse burned down 22nd October 2015.
Enigmata Treehouse Ecolodge and sculpture garden was a self-sustaining artist-run, independent art residency, cultural hub, community folk school, and social enterprise. Rosa served as the co-founder, artistic director and artist in residence and community organizer since 2004, who produced and facilitated art camps, eco-camps, film production, animation, art festivals, children's earth camps, culture, and art events for cultural banking and audience development.
Rosa organized pioneering culture-specific projects on biodiversity art education for children, youth, and teachers, and initiated, produced, and organized pioneering community-engaged art projects, public exhibitions, and performances. Since 2006, Enigmata has launched participatory and collaborative cultural exchange, fair travel, a map of hope, and a peace library project in partnership with Imagine Peace and Gotjawal, South Korea.
The project-based community art initiatives were funded by several partners:
Imagine Peace - South Korea
Cultural Center of the Philippines
The National Commission for the Culture and the Arts - Philippines
Arts Network Asia - Singapore
Patrimoine Sans Frontières - France
Earth Vision - Japan (as Animation Film-Winner)
